Dr. Ram Lal Markhanda, Agriculture minister, Himachal Pradesh, India, full-heartedly collaborated with Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa, CEO and President of Neodocto Inc, USA, to eradicate malaria in his state through Neodocto Malaria Eradicate Program (NMEP).

He has been elected to the assembly in December 2017. He told that he would do whatever he could to assist Neodocto Malaria Eradication Program, to see Himachal Pradesh as a malaria-free state.

World Health Organization in November 2017 recommended protection for all people at risk of malaria with effective malaria vector control. Two forms of vector control – insecticide-treated mosquito nets and indoor residual spraying – are effective in a wide range of circumstances, thus preventing individuals from malaria. This is because Malaria is spread by the bite of an infected female anopheles mosquito.

In India, Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax are the 2 most common parasites causing malaria in susceptible individuals. Plasmodium falciparum can cause a severe form of malaria called cerebral malaria, which could be lethal if not treated early.
