NeoDocto continues its journey to collaborate with the State Governments in India. The collaboration between NeoDocto Foundation, USA, and the Ministry for Health, Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, India aims to make efforts to reduce the impact of malaria disease in Delhi.
Manhattan, New York – 17th March 2018 – The Ministry of Health, Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, India collaborated with NeoDocto Foundation, USA to eradicate malaria disease in the state through the ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Program. The Global President and CEO of NeoDocto Inc., Madhukar Sanneerappa said that the strategic collaboration with Mr. Satyendar Jain, Honourable Minister for Health, Govt. of Delhi will make collective efforts to reduce the impact of malaria in Delhi through health education and preventative measures.
Malaria is transmitted by the dusk-dawn biting female Anopheles mosquito. The transmission of malaria is highly concentrated in places where the mosquito lifespan is longer and that depends on climatic conditions which may affect the survival of mosquitoes. Poor access to the public health system is one of the reasons for malaria. As per the report of the Directorate of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, 577 malaria cases were reported as of December 2017.
Mr. Satyendar Jain served as Health and Industries Minister in the first Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government from 28th December 2013 to 14th February 2014. He was re-elected from Shakur Basti Assembly Constituency in the recent Assembly elections and is presently serving as Minister of Health, Industries, Public Work Department, Power, Home, and Urban Development, Government of NCT of Delhi.
In Delhi, healthcare facilities are being provided by both Government and Non-Government Organizations. Among the Government Organizations, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) of the Government NCT of Delhi is the major agency related to healthcare delivery. DGHS is instrumental in the coordination and implementation of various national and state health programs.
