Manhattan, New York – 26th March 2018 – Indian Film and theatre actor Rajit Kapur joined hands with NeoDocto Foundation and extended his support to the ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme’ to eradicate malaria in India. Rajit Kapur appreciated the efforts of Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa, Global President and CEO of NeoDocto Inc. for his vision to build a healthy society and make healthcare services affordable to every individual.
Health education and awareness to end malaria disease will save millions more lives, mostly pregnant women and children. Malaria is preventable and treatable, early diagnosis and treatment are the keys. The use of mosquito nets, coils, repellents, and better water management can prevent malaria.
Rajit Kapur is an Indian film and theatre actor who is known for his award-winning portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in the 1996 film. The fictional detective ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’ in the eponymous television series directed by Basu Chatterjee was quite popular. He acted in his debut film ‘Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda’ directed by Shyam Benegal.
He said that “the growing needs of healthcare services have increased the price of medical and healthcare services. It is highly expensive to afford a quality healthcare service by all class of people”. The causes for the spread of global disease in malaria-endemic areas are poor health conditions and lack of health education were considered during the discussion between Rajit Kapur and Madhukar Sanneerappa.
“There are millions of people who follow celebrities and when they speak, the world listens; it could be personal or public health. A message from celebrities especially film actors, cricketers, athletes, and fashion models will reach millions and impact the lifestyle of the common people. The celebrities can leave a positive impact in improving public health by joining together for a social cause to create a difference in society”, said Madhukar.
