Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work partnered with NeoDocto Foundation, USA to support and implement the ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Program. The collaboration aims to educate and create awareness of malaria disease through students. The student's involved in social works and health programs especially health campaigns will make a big impact and progress. The “NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme” is one such program that will make a difference in improving public health.
Manhattan, New York – 26th March 2018 – Today’s students play an important role in building the future of society which is shaped by generation after generation. The education enables the students to understand themselves and contribute to the growth and development of the nation. Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work located in Mumbai, India partnered with NeoDocto Foundation, the USA to implement and make efforts to control malaria disease through the ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Program. Dr. Lidwin Dias, the Principal was proud to meet Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa, the Global President and CEO of NeoDocto Inc. who contribute to controlling the malaria disease in India.
Malaria is one of the major threats to public health and economic development. Globally, it is estimated that 216 million people were infected by malaria disease in 2016 as per World Malaria Report 2017 released by World Health Organization (WHO). The ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme fights against malaria and aims to reduce the impact of the disease on human beings.
The Principal said that that “the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan has shaped its vision in tune with the spirit of its founders to contribute to the building up of a new social order in India based on human dignity and social justice. The College is committed to working with a preferential option for the vulnerable and marginalized groups in society to ensure their development and empowerment”. The College was delighted to be a part of the ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme’ as the college has initiated several field action projects in the areas of children, women, rural, communal harm, disability, disaster management, dowry, housing, domestic work, and other social.
The student's involvement in social work at a young age strengthens their socioeconomic life and makes them strong enough to face any challenges in life rather than giving up. As a result, a strong individuality will be developed and helps to minimize the occurrence of social imbalance in society. There are several activities that students take initiative and volunteer for the betterment of society, NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme is one such initiative that helps to educate and create awareness on preventative measures of malaria disease, said Madhukar Sanneerappa, Global President and CEO of NeoDocto Inc.
